This is the Rolls Royce of vanilla extract. The vanilla beans we use for this gourmet vanilla come from Madagascar, are naturally aged for a minimum of 6 months and produce some of the finest Vanilla extract in the world. We use beans that are ethically sourced and naturally grown. The farmers that our native Vanilla support are micro-farmers, based in small villages far from the city.
Madagascar bourbon vanilla is ideal for use in baking, as well as desserts such as ice cream and crème brulee. In the 1800s, the French developed large plantations on the Bourbon Islands (now called Reunion) off the coast of Madagascar, hence the name Bourbon Vanilla. This is a Double-fold (2X) vanilla. Which means it is made with twice the quantity of vanilla beans used for the typical same volume of single-fold extract that you find in your typical grocery store. This results in a more concentrated, intense (double-strength) extract, creating some of the finest vanilla extract in the world.
